The duration of a Kyokushin training session depends on the athletes’ age, skill level, and training goals. On average, a single session lasts between 60 and 120 minutes.
Children’s classes are usually shorter, lasting around one hour. This is because it is harder for children to maintain concentration and handle intense workloads for extended periods. Adult athletes often train for an hour and a half to two hours.
A standard session includes a warm-up, basic technique work, physical conditioning exercises, partner drills, and stretching. Some groups also practice kumite and kata.
During competition preparation, sessions may become longer and more intense. Athletes focus more on endurance, sparring, and specialized physical conditioning.
Session length matters, but consistency is even more important. Even relatively short, regular training sessions produce solid results.
