Biography

Nikolay Davydov is a Russian Kyokushin fighter, Master of Sports of International Class, and holder of a 3rd dan black belt. He was born on December 13, 1986.

For many years, Davydov was among the strongest heavyweights in Russia and regularly represented the country at major IKO Kyokushinkaikan international tournaments. His athletic career coincided with the period when the Russian Kyokushin school firmly established itself among the world’s leaders.

Through consistent performances at world, European, Russian, and Japanese championships, Nikolay earned a reputation as one of the most versatile Russian fighters of his generation.

World Open performances

One of Nikolay Davydov’s greatest achievements was his performance at the 10th IKO Absolute World Championship in 2011.

At the tournament, which traditionally brings together the world’s strongest fighters regardless of weight category, Davydov reached the top finishers and placed 6th.

Finishing in the top six fighters in the world is considered a serious achievement for any competitor, as the level of competition at the World Open is among the highest in world Kyokushin.

This result placed Nikolay among the most successful Russian participants at world championships in the early 2010s.
