Qualification test standards for student and master degrees.

Age requirements:

  • Up to 1st dan — no age limit
  • 1st dan — must be 16 or older
  • 2nd dan — must be 20 or older
  • 3rd dan — must be 30 or older
  • 4th dan — must be 35 or older
  • 5th dan and above — must be 40 or older

Testing schedule

Student degrees:

  • 10th-5th kyu — twice a year.
  • 4th-1st kyu — testing once a year.

Master degrees:

  • 1st dan — minimum 2 years of active training since the previous degree
  • 2nd dan — minimum 3 years of training since the previous degree
  • 3rd dan — minimum 4 years since the previous degree
  • 4th dan — minimum 5 years since the previous degree
  • 5th dan and above — no time restriction.

Additional requirements for master degrees

  • 1st dan — Participation in interregional training camps at least 3 times. Recommendation from the dojo head.
  • 2nd dan — Officially registered dojo within the organization. Recommendation from a Shihan.
  • 3rd dan — Officially registered dojo within the organization, organizational activity — participation in developing the organization. Recommendation from a Shihan.
  • 4th dan — Officially registered dojo within the organization, organizational activity — participation in developing the organization. Recommendation from two Shihans.
  • 5th dan and above — Recommendations from two Shihans, continuous organizational activity related to developing the organization. Authority and respect.
